Sons of Light Music Ministry was a non-profit outreach. We played virtually everywhere for free. We loved to bring quality worship and orginal music to any venue we were offered.
Camp Pendleton: 2003-2007

As I said, I'm involved in several projects and this was my band, "Sons of Light." Here we are at Camp Pendleton Marine Training, entertaining our future troops. What a gig this was. We did this one at least three times a year and nothing beats our Marines and singing for them. We conducted a Chapel service while bringing them orginal southern rock style, Christian music. Man do they love it and they let what hair they have.... down! Sometimes there can be as many as 700+ recruits. We can't call them Marines when there, only "Recruits", as they hadn't finished their training. 90% of these young men were going to Iraq weeks later. Nothing is better than hearing 700 men say, "Sir, Yes Sir, Amen!" all at once. Especially when you ask them if they love the Lord! I'm holding the red, white and blue guitar. No Cowboy hat here, as we dress in cammo clothes. We told them that we dress that way, because we are in "Spiritual Warfare" Amen!
Here's a picture a passer by took at the Orange County/Irvine Marathon.
I handed him a business card and he e/mailed the pic to us-Thanks!
From left to Right: Jerry McJunkin, Mike Drahos, James Blair, Kevin Mahon and Juan Flores. Can you find the fish?
Here are some other LA Marathon Pictures. We played there every year, somewhere on the route. It's a blast waking up the city at 7:00 am with some Christian Music. The crowd/runners keep changing, so we can play the same song for as long as we want! We have even written one tune while playing for an extended time.
Here's my good friend "Fast Freddie" just having the time of his life. Occasionaly Freddie would fill in for Mike on Drums. Freddie has a Blues band in Newport Beach and they are having a blast.

Here's the youngest player "Kid Kyle".....is he posing? LOL

Run To Win is the outfit we paly for. It's outreach for sporting events.

Here's Todd Wangsness & Rikie "G" Martinez

Harald & Freddie takin' a breather! It's a long day at this gig 6 am till 1:00 pm. If we stop playing the runners start yelling!

And of course, here's Jerry McJunkin"

We always get some Run To Win Shirts

Ready Freddie?
